Gotz George, one of Germany’s leading popular actors, is Zobel, a fiftyish con man who works the streets with his longtime lover Karl (Redl) and his twentysomething daughter Lizzi (Hain.) The three make for an atypical family: two gay men raising a daughter in a ramshackle trailer home who nonchalantly earn their living through crime. But when Karl suddenly dies, the flim-flam/pickpocketing team is in need of a new member. That comes in the person of Rudolf (Eitner), a brash, sexy, wet-behind-the-ears thief. Lizzi falls in love with him and coaxes her distrustful dad into accepting him into their fold. Dad also falls under Rudolf’s seductive charms (and it becomes obvious Rudolf swings both ways). What will become of this sexually fluctuating trio? This infectious comedy delivers the goods in offering characters of varying sexual orientations and presents gay sex scenes dripping with eroticism. George is more than believable as the vain but aging lothario and Eitner is disarmingly sexy as his playmate. A refreshing alternative to your typical Hollywood film
